Film, Geomancy and the Alchemical Landscape
The first iteration of the current Alchemical Landscape project was a screening of Ben Wheatley's A Field in England (2013) in November 2013 at the Faculty of English, University of Cambridge. The event was organized by the Cambridge University Counterculture Research Group and was billed as: Film, Geomancy and the Alchemical Landscape. Yvonne Salmon introduced the film and the notion of the 'geographic turn' in contemporary (counter)culture. The screening was followed by three responsive papers by Brendan Gillot, Henry Miller and James Riley. Residual Noise posted the text of Riley's talk, 'Critical Fields'.
